Careers:

We have a current opening for an Automation Process Engineer to join PNI to support the manufacture of industry leading magneto-inductive based sensors. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, have a strong process engineering background and a proven track record of delivering results.

Key Roles:

This position leads the process development and manufacturing support of a new, high-volume automated sensor production line. The equipment includes three highly customized coil winding, bonding, testing and tapping machines as well as standard semiconductor die bonding and degating equipment. The position will require immersion in not only the machine mechanical attributes but the control application software as well. Key responsibilities include the ability to identify, troubleshoot and solve problems related to software, mechanical or material issues, and implement effective corrective actions to ensure production yields are met. Responsibilities also include implementing additional equipment in new locations and fully qualifying their operational performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Support highly automated coil winding and semiconductor-type die bonding and degating equipment, and optimize process parameters.
  • Ensure the functionality of the equipment for full production schedule (up to 24 hours, 7 days a week), troubleshooting and responding to failures and alarms.
  • Train operators on proper and efficient procedures for equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Continually improve process to higher levels of quality and throughput.
  • Document automation process details in specification(s) and work instructions.
  • Define improvements in material to support high volume production.
  • Define statistical monitoring methods supporting developed automation processes.
  • Support automated die bonding processes as needed to maintain product flow (i.e. support existing process recipes)
  • Define and implement metrics to monitor process performance.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with PNI Safety Program and local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or MS in engineering preferred
  • 3-5 yrs technical experience working in an engineering role supporting automated equipment
  • Ability to apply new manufacturing technology/concepts to current processes
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Works well alone and in a team environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including lab notebook format for recording experimental results and documenting for learning and reproduction.
  • Experience with system-level trouble shooting skills for semiconductor packaging processes and the ability to separate out between man, machine, or material issues. Proven record of implementing effective correction actions.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with thoroughness, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Proficiency in statistical processing applications

Preferences:

  • Process background in microelectronic automation equipment
  • Knowledge of die attach processes
  • Technical writing background
  • Knowledge of coil winding and die bonding equipment, upstream and downstream processes, SPC, DOE.

We have a current opening for a Quality Assurance Manager. This key role is responsible for driving the implementation of the Quality Management System, including the initial certification and ongoing compliance to the applicable standards (ISO 9001:2008).  This individual will act as the management representative for Quality Assurance and will ensure that company policies and guidelines are accurately interpreted and implemented.   This position requires an self-starter who can create, manage, implement and also be hands-on.

Key Roles:

  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance and improvement of Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure the compliance with the applicable quality and regulatory standards, including:
    • Initiate and/or revise Quality Assurance manual, procedures, and SOP to ensure the compliance with the applicable standards: ISO 9001: 2008
    • Perform internal and supplier audits in accordance with published schedules and procedures or specifications
    • Coordinates management review and promotes improvements to the QMS
    • Is the point of contact and individual who accompanies customers during an audit and provides any requested information and documentation for on-site review
    • Identifies non-compliance to QMS and corrects or elevates to senior management as appropriate
    • Performs QMS awareness training and provides training on departmental procedures, policies, and practices ensuring training records are maintained as required.
  • Responsible for developing and strengthening Supplier Management Programs.
    • Continually work with suppliers to improve performance, implement process control and quality plans
    • Interact routinely with Purchasing, Engineering and Suppliers to pro actively improve quality of components.
    • Analyze supplier capabilities. Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics.
    • Perform supplier Quality Systems audits and provide support for supplier Quality Systems improvements.
  • Promotes continuous improvement through management of MRB, CAPA, leading root cause analysis and deploying manufacturing process controls, process validation and change control.
    • Responsible for Material of Non-Conforming Materials (MRB)
    • Performs detailed trending analysis of related quality data identifying top issues in pareto format, and facilitates problem solving and/or process improvement activities. Develops action plans to reach objectives
    • Coordinates problem solving activities to identify and eliminate root causes of non-conformances (both production and business process) using recognized root cause analysis methods
  • Responsible for QA Inspection activities including:
    • Personnel management / performance management
    • Maintaining staffing and efficient work flow to meet through put requirements
    • Ensuring adequate training and skill level within inspection team to meet quality standards
    • Deployment of 5S standards to create world class work environment
    • Develops, deploys and monitors process controls plans (In process inspection programs and SPC)
  • Trains employees on safety and environmental job requirements, adhering to and implementing company safety policies, procedures, and practices.   And continually seek opportunities to improve our safety performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.

We have a current opening for a Materials Coordinator. This role is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of material, both physically and in materials management systems, in accordance with production and shipping schedules for PNI's automated sensor production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisor's priorities.
  • Review production schedules and confer with supervisor to determine material requirements.
  • Stage materials for production according to production schedules.
  • Receive incoming and inspect incoming materials according to established quality control procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts at all times, and ensure inventory is accurately tracked in materials management systems.
  • Maintains a safe, clean working environment.
  • Operates calibration software equipment to perform calibration testing of products and RMAs 
  • Ensures that all activities are carried out in compliance with PNI Safety Program and local, state, and federal safety regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A.A. degree and one year experience or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices
  • Communication skills to interact with carriers and intra-­‐departmentally
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities.
  • Proficient on Word, Excel and an ERP system (preferably IFS).
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
