We have a current opening for an Automation Process Engineer to join PNI to support the manufacture of industry leading magneto-inductive based sensors. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, have a strong process engineering background and a proven track record of delivering results.
Key Roles:
This position leads the process development and manufacturing support of a new, high-volume automated sensor production line. The equipment includes three highly customized coil winding, bonding, testing and tapping machines as well as standard semiconductor die bonding and degating equipment. The position will require immersion in not only the machine mechanical attributes but the control application software as well. Key responsibilities include the ability to identify, troubleshoot and solve problems related to software, mechanical or material issues, and implement effective corrective actions to ensure production yields are met. Responsibilities also include implementing additional equipment in new locations and fully qualifying their operational performance.
Responsibilities:
- Support highly automated coil winding and semiconductor-type die bonding and degating equipment, and optimize process parameters.
- Ensure the functionality of the equipment for full production schedule (up to 24 hours, 7 days a week), troubleshooting and responding to failures and alarms.
- Train operators on proper and efficient procedures for equipment operation and maintenance.
- Continually improve process to higher levels of quality and throughput.
- Document automation process details in specification(s) and work instructions.
- Define improvements in material to support high volume production.
- Define statistical monitoring methods supporting developed automation processes.
- Support automated die bonding processes as needed to maintain product flow (i.e. support existing process recipes)
- Define and implement metrics to monitor process performance.
- Ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with PNI Safety Program and local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
