SmartSens
The foundation of all of PNI's ready-to-integrate® sensor modules, the SmartSens family of sensors harnesses the existing power of the Earth's magnetic field to measure relative or absolute position in 2 or 3 dimensions. Small and RoHS compliant, they deliver best-in-class accuracy and resolution, temperature and noise stability, and dynamic range — while using over 10 times less power than ordinary sensors.
SmartSens sensors can be oriented in both the horizontal and vertical planes to construct a magnetometer with any number of measurement axes. Optimized for use in game controllers, solid-state navigation devices, and handheld devices with integrated compassing functions, they're ideal wherever power is at a premium and performance can't be compromised.
CompassPoint
The CompassPoint family of cost-effective, low-power compass and magnetic field sensing modules are ideal for use in educational, hobbyist, and low-volume applications, as well as design and prototyping for high-volume applications.
All CompassPoint modules combine patented magneto-inductive sensors with integrated circuit boards and surface mount packages that require no external components — so they can be designed into research and demo units or product prototypes with little to no engineering cost. They're temperature- and noise-stabilized to measure compass heading and/or magnetic field accurately in any environment. And because they use up to 12 times less power than comparable sensor modules, they're perfect for applications in which power sources are few and far between.
TCM
The TCM family of tilt-compensated heading and orientation modules works at tilt ranges up to a full 360 degrees of rotation, allowing them to be mounted at virtually any orientation or position. And all TCM modules include electronic gimballing and built-in hard- and soft-iron correction, guaranteeing the most accurate compass heading measurements available. Even in the most demanding conditions and environments, PNI TCMs deliver unmatched performance, making them ideal for applications such as high-performance ROV navigation, targeting systems, GPS system integration, vehicle sensing and tracking, drilling applications, robotics, and more.
