SmartSens MICROMAG 2
The 2-axis SmartSens MicroMag 2 is ideal for use when designing a 2-axis digital compass or 2-axis magnetic field sensor. It is engineered to make designing applications faster and easier than building a 2-axis sensor interface from scratch. By combining two magneto-inductive sensors and an ASIC in an all-digital module that requires no additional circuitry, MicroMag 2 drastically reduces the time and expense — and the trial and error — of designing a system from separate components. And because it uses PNI's low power magneto-inductive sensors, its power use is measured in micro-amps.
With a large field measurement range, high resolution, and digital output, SmartSens MicroMag 2 is ideal for research, educational, and hobby use, as well as for low-volume applications and product prototypes.

MicroMag 2 Module

The MicroMag 2 Evaluation Kit contains a MicroMag 2 Module mounted on a carrier board, PNI CommBoard, computer interface cable and CD containing manuals and evaluation software. This kit allows the user to quickly evaluate the Sen-XY and MicroMag 2 module in a 2-axis magnetometer or compass application.
The PNI CommBoard is an evaluation tool which provides SPI to RS-232 conversion of PNI products and also contains algorithms for calibration, distortion correction and data collection for those products which do not include a controller. The PNI CommBoard with included cable and application software allows the user to be up and testing in a matter of minutes to evaluate PNI's technology reducing the initial development cost and time.
